Should you race here?
A metro stop and an airport train at the same station, under the roof of a national stadium.
Reasons to
- Stadion Narodowy on the M2 serves the venue, and the airport train stops beside it.
- The airport transfer costs 4.40 zlotys, the same as a city single.
- 68% humidity and 35mm across April, the driest of the European races here.
- Over thirteen hours of daylight, with the light until quarter past seven.
Reasons not to
- No hotel rate or meal price in zlotys was reachable, so the weekend is hard to cost in advance.
- It drops to 4°C (39°F) at dawn, which is when the early waves travel.
- The stadium is a ring, so the wrong entrance is a long walk.
- Large shops shut on most Sundays, which catches people out.

Warsaw has moved building, moved season, and grown from a single day into the best part of a week. Where you race, and when, changes the day more than most people expect.
PGE Narodowy, your race is in this building
The Polish national stadium on the right bank of the Vistula, with a retractable roof and event space under the stands.
Known for. Football internationals, and the Euro 2012 opening match it was built for.
The building. Opened in 2012 on the site of the old Stadion Dziesięciolecia, which was built in 1955 from rubble cleared after the war.
Race day and start times
The thing that shapes your travel is not the race date. It is when you find out what time you are racing on it.
Hyrox links individual start times on the event page a few days before the race. A provisional schedule goes up earlier.
What to bring
At PGE Narodowy, and only on the day you compete. Registration opens 90 minutes before the first wave of your division.
You do not bring a chip. You collect the ankle strap at check-in, wear it for the race, and hand it back after the line.
What your wristband does not cover
You are given a wristband at check-in. Hyrox has not published what the Warsaw one admits you to. Check-in is open only on the day you race, so do not assume it covers a second day.
Getting there on the morning
The M2 to Stadion Narodowy, or the train to Warszawa Stadion beside it. Both start early enough for the first waves.
What you need to book
Before you book
The listing covers 7 to 11 April, so confirm your division's day before booking the last night.
If Hyrox cancels or postpones the event, its terms do not cover your flights or your room. Check the cancellation deadline on both before you pay for either.
Flying into the city
Modlin, 40km north, handles low-cost routes and is slower to reach.

Getting to Warsaw
Chopin airport runs a direct train to Warszawa Stadion, next to the venue, in about thirty minutes for 4.40 zlotys.
The S2 from Chopin airport
A direct train to Warszawa Stadion, next to the venue, in about thirty minutes for 4.40 zlotys. No change and no premium fare.
The M2 from the centre
Stadion Narodowy is one stop across the river from the middle of town. A 24-hour ticket is 15 zlotys and covers trams and buses as well.
Entry requirements
Quick tip
That train fare is the same as a city single, which makes this one of the cheapest airport transfers on the calendar.
Getting to the venue
Praga is the venue's own side of the river, cheaper and more interesting than it used to be. Śródmieście across the bridge is the centre and the obvious base.
The M2 stops at Stadion Narodowy and the airport train runs direct to Warszawa Stadion beside it, so both the city and the airport reach the venue without a change. A 24-hour ticket is 15 PLN against 4.40 PLN a journey.
Where to stay
The venue is on the right bank in Praga. The centre is one metro stop across the river.

1. Hotels in Praga
The venue's own side, long the rough half of the city and now the interesting one. Closest to the hall and generally cheaper.
2. Hotels in Śródmieście
The business and shopping centre around the Palace of Culture, one metro stop from the stadium. Where most of the rooms are.
3. Hotels in the Old Town
The rebuilt old city, reconstructed brick by brick after the war and listed by UNESCO for it. It is prettier than the rest of the city and busier with tourists.
Nothing else is booked into the stadium across the race days and no city-wide event was confirmed, so rooms should price as an ordinary April weekend.
Neighbourhoods worth the commute
Warsaw is split by the Vistula, with the stadium on the eastern bank and the centre across it.
| Area | To the venue | Why | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Praga | 10 to 20 min on foot | The right bank around the stadium, with pre-war tenements the bombing missed and a growing run of bars and galleries. | |
| Śródmieście | about 5 min by metro | The centre: the Palace of Culture, the offices, the shops and most of the hotels. One stop across the river. | |
| Old Town | about 15 min | The reconstructed old city, rebuilt from paintings and photographs after 1945. Small, dense and the main sight. | |
| Powiśle | about 10 min | The strip along the western bank below the escarpment, with the university library roof garden and the river beaches. | |
| Wola | about 20 min by metro | West of the centre, where the new towers are going up and the Warsaw Rising Museum sits. Modern and functional. |
Eating before and after
The night before a race is not the night for the best meal of your trip, which is harder discipline than it sounds in a city this good at food.
Praga, near the stadium
The right bank around the venue has ordinary kitchens and milk bars within fifteen minutes. No source names one with a price, so pick by the queue.
Powiśle
Across the bridge below the escarpment, with plain places along the river. Ten minutes from the hall and quieter than the centre.
No restaurant near the stadium could be verified, so these are the dishes rather than the addresses, and they are served across the city.
Pierogi
Dumplings filled with potato and curd, or meat, or cabbage and mushroom, boiled then sometimes fried. The Polish plate, and heavy enough to be a proper dinner.
Żurek
A sour rye soup with sausage and egg, served in bread at the tourist end and in a bowl everywhere else. Warming, and better than it sounds on a cold morning.
Race day supplies
The practical failures that spoil a race weekend are almost never the training. They are forgetting the gels, or carrying a kit bag around a city for six hours.
Pack list
- Layers for an eleven-degree spread between the 4°C (39°F) dawn and the 15°C (58°F) afternoon.
- Less waterproofing than the rest of northern Europe needs here. Only 35mm across the month.
- A card. Poland is close to cashless and contactless works nearly everywhere.
Quick tips
- Buy a 24-hour ticket at 15 PLN instead of singles at 4.40 PLN.
- Large shops shut on most Sundays. Żabka and the station shops are the exception.
Żabka convenience stores are on most corners and open late. Larger Polish shops close on most Sundays under the trading law, so buy what you need on Saturday.
The last race in Warsaw
Hyrox raced at the national stadium in April 2026. No source confirms the hall or the layout from that edition, so there is little local form to pass on.
What happened
The last edition, in short.
- Stadion Narodowy on the M2 serves the venue, and the airport train stops at Warszawa Stadion.
- The listing covers five days, 7 to 11 April, so confirm your division's day.
What it means for you
How your race differs from that one.
- A 24-hour ticket is PLN 15 against PLN 4.40 a journey.
- The stadium is a ring. Check which entrance before you set off, not when you arrive.
What else is on that weekend
A quiet week at the stadium, with the city's usual run of club concerts around it.
| What | When | Where | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Concerts at Palladium and Hybrydy | 7 April | Central Warsaw clubs | Two gigs on the first race day, both small club shows rather than anything that fills the city. |
| A concert at Progresja | 10 April | Wola, west of the centre | Across the race window, on the other side of the river from the venue. |
| Nothing booked into the stadium | 7 to 11 April | PGE Narodowy | No other event was confirmed at the venue across the race days, so the building is yours. |
| The Vistula bank | All weekend | Beside the venue | The eastern bank is left wild and has paths along it, immediately next to the stadium. |
What to see
Written for someone racing tomorrow, not a tourist with a week. Each entry says how far it is, because some of these are worth a longer trip and some are not.
The Warsaw Rising Museum
The 1944 uprising told through the city that fought it, in a converted power station. Loud, dense and the thing to see if you see one thing here.
The Old Town
Rebuilt from rubble after 1945 using Canaletto's paintings as the reference, and listed by UNESCO for the reconstruction itself rather than the buildings.
The Palace of Culture and Science
Stalin's gift to Warsaw, 237 metres of Soviet wedding cake that the city has never quite decided about. There is an observation terrace on the thirtieth floor.
POLIN Museum
A thousand years of Polish Jewish life, built on the ground of the ghetto. Careful, enormous and not only about the ending.
What to do
The Vistula's wild bank
The eastern shore beside the stadium is left unbuilt, with sand, trees and paths along the water. A rare thing in a capital and the obvious shake-out run.
Łazienki Park
A royal park of lakes and pavilions south of the centre, with peacocks and a palace on an island. Flat paths and a good hour's walking.
Praga's courtyards
Behind the stadium, the pre-war tenements hide chapels and workshops in their yards. The half of Warsaw that was never flattened.
A milk bar
State-subsidised canteens left from the communist years, still serving pierogi and soup for very little. Fast, plain and open at lunchtime.
